“Momentum begets momentum, and the best way to start is to start.” – Gil Penchina
The very word “Momentum” is an aspect of physics that is part of everyday life. In terms of formula, momentum equals to the product of mass and velocity, and the greater the value of that product, the greater the momentum. However, today we are focused on the term “momentum” outside the world of physics.
In simple terms, momentum is referred to a moving object or force, which is constantly on the go. The more the momentum of the object, the harder it becomes to stop it. For instance, the word momentum is used as a metaphor in sports. There it represents the particular sports team that’s on a constant roll, which means they are gaining a winning streak and are therefore reaching closer to their victory by gathering momentum.
Have you ever wondered how someone is always motivated, energetic and driven to attain their goals? These traits are often seen in successful people because they have managed to learn the secret to stay motivated. Thus, keep your momentum high as that is exactly what you need to heal your mind. To get work done, one must be highly motivated and feel energetic.
Follow these tips to build and maintain momentum throughout!
Start With A Bang
Think of yourself as an athlete standing on the starting line, aiming to giving his best. Be focused on giving your best, instead of worrying about a pre-set notion of greatness. As the saying goes, “You do not need to be great to start; you just need to start to be great.”
Starting strong will inculcate power to feel great and ensure productivity all day long. To start off strong, it is very important that you get enough sleep the night before. If you do not sleep well, than expect to start your day feeling sleepy and tired. Do you think, it is possible to accomplish much when you are in such a state? Not likely.
This is in fact the first step you are taking to irradiate laziness and lethargy out of your life and heal your mind to stay fresh all day long. Morning ritual is an excellent way to start your day and to build momentum. The rituals can be something like exercising in the morning, reviewing your goals, meditate, visualise and plan your day and read positive quotes to get a boost of motivation.
Create a morning ritual that will release the feel good hormones. Creating a ritual is easy, whereas sticking to it is difficult. Remind yourself every night before bed that you have to be up early to practise your morning ritual. After following it for some time it will become a healthy habit in your daily routine.
Be Task Oriented
Being task oriented is probably the easiest way to gain motivation. Start by making list of small tasks such as making your bed, reading ten pages, eating healthy breakfast, walking for thirty minutes, etc. Start your day and tick these small tasks off your list. One after the other when you complete these small tasks you will see how you are building momentum and there is no lack of motivation for sure.
Breakfast for Champion
Healthy breakfast is what makes you a champion. It gives you all the nutrition the body requires to carry on the day with full strength. To be pumped up throughout the day, fuel yourself with healthy food full of proteins and minimum carbs.
When you split the term “break- fast”, it literally means breaking the fast. Considering the fact that your body has digested most of the food during your sleep cycle. This is why you wake up feeling thirsty and hungry, which is also why you must eat a healthy meal to start your day.
Start by drinking two glasses of warm or cold water right after you wake up because your body is dehydrated during your sleep hours. Researches show that drinking water on an empty stomach the first thing in the morning will make you healthier and cleanse toxins from your body.
Never think of skipping a healthy meal. Many teens have the habit of skipping breakfast, which is extremely unhealthy. It is impossible to tackle your day on an empty stomach. After all, motivation is hard to come by if you feel hungry and tired all the time.
Accomplish And Prioritise The Important Task
It is important that you rank the tasks, so that you can learn and distinguish the ones that should be prioritised. First things first should be your rule. If you wish to get all the important things off the check list then better start prioritising them and get them done first in order of importance. This is also one of the mantras practised when implementing productivity coaching and business coaching as this assures guaranteed productivity.
Deal with what’s important first, as it is better to tackle the major concerns so that you do not end up being stressed and rushed at the end of the day. Leaving the important titbits for the last can land you in unnecessary trouble and lead to a chaotic state of mind.
Remember, we are trying to make our lives as easy as possible. The last thing you need is to pressure your mind and deal with unwanted mental issues. Follow this simple rule, accomplish your task and heal your mind with the glory set in by accomplishments.
Create your very own morning ritual, so that it is comfortable and fits your necessity and comfort. Never skip your breakfast, after all health is wealth. Be focused on the priority that will ensure all the tasks are ticked off by the end of the day. Little accomplishments are what will lead you to the goals in life. Pave the way to create momentum in your life and channel it to bring the best of your capabilities at the forefront. With momentum by your side, success follows and so will the peace of mind!
